The Premier League window closed earlier this month after a very busy summer, so many Newcastle United players leaving and new faces arriving.
In total there were 29 transfers arranged this summer, with nine arriving and twenty leaving (full list here).
When the English transfer window closed at 11pm on Tuesday 1 September 2026, it meant no more incoming deals for Premier League clubs and those in the EFL.
All of the other main European leagues also closed that day, those in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Some lower ranking European leagues and some beyond Europe stayed open longer.
However, as you can see below the options now are very few.
It was widely expected that Nick Pope was going to be leaving this summer but that didn’t happen, as yet.
Nick Pope has been included in the matchday squads recently but only because Ewen Jaouen picked up an injury. Media reports claim Jaouen is now back fully fit and available and is expected to return as number to Lukas Hornicek and be on the bench this Saturday against Hull City.
So Nick Pope won’t even be in the matchday squads moving forward and Newcastle United also have Mark Gillespie as third choice cover.
The transfer window in Israel closes today, then Serbia on Friday. Neither of which are likely destinations for Nick Pope or any other Premier League players.
The most viable destination, if any, is surely the Saudi Arabia Pro league. There are still 26 days to go before their summer window closes on Monday 12 October.
