Matthias Jaissle faces an injury crisis ahead of Saturday’s match against Hull City.
If it wasn’t for bad luck the Newcastle United Head Coach would have no luck at all.
Anthony Elanga was a surprise omission from the matchday squad at Elland Road.
Ahead of the match Matthias Jaissle said that Elanga would have another MRI scan next week but didn’t reveal what the nature of the injury was. Then after the game when asked about the Sweden international the Head Coach said that it doesn’t look good at all for the winger.
A freak incident forced Nick Gonzalez off with what was reported to be concussion, the midfielder trying to carry on but subbed off on 19 minutes.
It was a surprise to see Matthias Jaissle not bring Jacob Ramsey off the bench but then the NUFC boss revealed post-match that the former Villa player felt his thigh during the warm-up and couldn’t come on.
After the final whistle of the 4-1 defeat to Leeds, the Newcastle United Head Coach also made clear that he expects none of his injured players to be available for the Hull City match.
An early season injury crisis with it appears to be at least these seven Newcastle United players set to be missing on Saturday.
Dan Burn – Ankle/foot
Joelinton – Thigh
Jacob Ramsey – Thigh
William Osula – Ankle
Nico Gonzalez – Concussion
Ewen Jaouen – Ankle
Anthony Elanga -Unknown
