Newcastle United have now received an offer to buy Joe Willock.
Media in Turkey reporting the news.
Besiktas have been linked with Joe Willock for some time and now it is claimed that a formal offer has been made.
Journalist Mustafa Karatas reports that Besiktas have now offered €7m (approx £6m) plus €5m (approx £4.3m) in potential future add-ons.
Published as an exclusive, Karatas adds that Newcastle United are trying to hold out for €20m (approx £17.2m).
Joe Willock only has one year left on his Newcastle United contract and back in July it was reported that his agent had travelled to Istanbul for talks with Besiktas about the United midfielder, with Willock said to be keen on the move.
Matthias Jaissle has stated that he expects there to be more players joining AND leaving Newcastle United in these final (less than) two weeks of the transfer window.
Joe Willock is certainly one of those expected to leave and as the transfer window deadline moves closer, there will surely be a compromise deal done with Besiktas, if they are indeed determined to follow through with their interest.
Finishing fourth last season in the Turkish top tier, Besiktas started their 2026/27 league season with a 1-0 win over Eyupspor.
Having won all four matches they have played in Europa League qualifying rounds so far, Besiktas now face Kauno Žalgiris in a play-off to get through to the competition proper. The first leg of that play-off is tonight, then the second leg a week later.
Whether Joe Willock will be turning out for Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig and potentially the Europa League remains to be seen.
