A perfect way to kick off the weekend.
Down the local, chucking the drinks down, watching Sunderland get smashed 5-0 at home and everybody in the pub laughing their heads off.
I was tempted to try and sleep through Saturday and not wake up until Sunday.
Nottingham Forest were as good as Sunderland were bad.
From what I have seen this season, the Mackems carrying so much luck and getting away with so many cowardly challenges (how many players does Brobbey have to injure with sly fouls before he his properly punished?), whilst Forest carrying so little luck and a club owner determined to try and get them relegated by repeatedly changing managers (on their fourth already this season!).
A Hume own goal set Forest on their way and then three goals in a six minute stretch really destroyed Sunderland. Former Newcastle United striker Chris Wood on 31 minutes, then Gibbs-White and Igor Jesus swiftly followed up.
With 37 minutes on the clock and 4-0 down, so many Mackems deserting their team as they got up and walked.
Nottingham Forest strolled through the second half, happy to hold what they had. Sunderland rarely threatened and when they did, a couple of outstanding saves from former Newcastle United keeper Matz Sels.
It was left to Geordie and lifelong Newcastle United fan Elliot Anderson to finish the Mackems off, he scored the fifth in added time and not many Sunderland fans left in the stadium to throw further abuse his way.
His emotional goal celebration and interview afterwards, paying tribute to his mam who sadly passed away recently.
Nottingham Forest are now eight points clear of relegation and it now looks between Tottenham and West Ham for sure, when it comes to fighting for the third relegation spot.
Biggest laugh of all was when the commentator announced that it is going to be a big night out in Sunderland for a lot of Nottingham Forest fans…
Yes, that will be right. Forest fans would have been jumping on the Metro to Newcastle ASAP to continue their brilliant night out.
