Lewis Hall has been one of the shining lights for Thomas Tuchel and England.

Two superb performances as the Three Lions have won two matches, scored nine goals and kept a couple of clean sheets.

England fans belatedly catching on to what Newcastle United fans already knew, Lewis Hall is easily the best left-back the country has and arguably the best in his position in the entire Premier League.

Nico O’Reilly is a talented player but not at the same level as the United star as a left-back, the Manchester City player was really poor against Spain and gifted them the crucial equaliser to make it 2-2.

It was then announced ahead of the match away against the Czech Republic that O’Reilly had picked up an injury and sent back to his club but wouldn’t be replaced.

However, a new official statement from The FA has revealed that Rico Lewis has been added to the England squad.

The 21-year-old versatile Man City defender can play in either full-back position and if necessary in midfield.

He has been promoted from Lee Carsley’s under-21s squad, whom he helped secure qualification for the 2027  under 21 European Championships in this international break.

Considering there is only this Czech Republic visit to Wembley on Tuesday evening still to go, you would assume that Rico Lewis has been brought in to play, not to sit on the bench.

The Man City defender picked up his fifth and most recent England cap two years ago but looks set to start at left-back on Tuesday night.

Lewis Hall has been immense for England but Thomas Tuchel will be respectful of not asking too much from the Newcastle United fan. Hall has started all seven United matches this season so far and I can’t see any way that the England boss will ask Hall to start three games in such quick succession playing Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday.

I think a much changed team on Tuesday night with Thomas Tuchel resting key players and giving others a chance. Lewis Hall set to be one of those rested and at most will be given some minutes off the bench in the second half.
