Second Newcastle United player confirmed to be going to 2026 World Cup finals

There will be at least two Newcastle United players at the 2026 World Cup finals.

Most nations holding off naming their final squads just yet, however, Graham Potter last week named Anthony Elanga in his 26 man Sweden squad for the 2026 World Cup finals.

Now a second Newcastle United player has been confirmed for the finals.

Yoane Wissa named in the 26 man DR Congo squad.

They are in Group K at the 2026 World Cup finals and will take on Portugal, Colombia and Uzbekistan.

The country was previously known as Zaire when they last played at the World Cup in West Germany in 1974, losing all three games, including a 9-0 defeat to Yugoslavia.
