Benfica have confirmed the transfer of Amar Dedic to Newcastle United.
The defender signing for United on his 24th birthday.
The deal officially announced by both clubs on Tuesday morning.
Amar Dedic signing a five-year contract with his new club.
As usual, no financial details revealed by Newcastle United.
However, Benfica the exact opposite.
As a listed company on the Lisbon Stock Exchange, Benfica obliged to make the details public when it comes to the financial side.
Benfica announcing today:
‘Amar Dedic transferred to Newcastle United. Sport Lisboa e Benfica informed the CMVM of the agreement reached with the English club.’
(The CMVM (Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários) is the Portuguese Securities Market Commission, the official public agency that regulates and supervises Portugal’s financial and capital markets, securities trading, and investment activities.)
‘Sport Lisboa e Benfica has informed the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) that it has reached an agreement with Newcastle (England) for the permanent transfer of the player Dedic for a fee of €35.9 million (approx £30.7m).

“Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD (Benfica SAD) announces that it has reached an agreement with Newcastle for the sale of the full rights to the player Amar Dedic for a fee of €35.9 million.
Benfica SAD will also be entitled to receive 17.94% of the capital gain realized from any future transfer of the said player.
It is further stated that Newcastle will have the right to retain the 5% solidarity mechanism for subsequent distribution to the clubs involved in the player’s development, and Benfica SAD will incur intermediation service costs amounting to 10% of the transfer fee, calculated after deducting the solidarity amount.
Red Bull Salzburg will be entitled to receive 15% of the proceeds from the said player’s transfer, calculated after deducting the acquisition cost of the player’s rights and the solidarity mechanism retained upon the sale.”

Benfica then adding: ‘After concluding his [2025/26] season with Benfica, he joined the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team for the 2026 World Cup. Upon his return, he played another 3 official matches for the club. At 24 years of age, Dedic is preparing to begin a new chapter in his career, and Sport Lisboa e Benfica wishes him sporting success and personal happiness.’
